1. Education
– Schools Management Project Expansion: Recognizing a gap in government training for school committee members on their roles and responsibilities, we are planning to expand the Schools Management Project. This will allow us to train more committees and empower them with the knowledge and skills needed for effective school governance.
– Head Teachers Schools Management Project Expansion: We intend to expand the Head Teachers Schools Management Project to reach more head teachers. This new phase will incorporate mental health training, collaborating with our mental health initiatives to ensure head teachers understand how to identify and address mental health issues within their student bodies.
– School Exchange Program: We are in talks to initiate a school exchange program between high-performing schools and those in more disadvantaged areas. The program will facilitate the exchange of teachers and students through shadowing opportunities, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and mutual support.
2. Health and Nutrition
– Hydroponics Project Expansion: Due to the overwhelming success and positive response from our pilot program, we plan to expand the hydroponics project to more schools that have sent requests. This expansion will replicate the sustainable farming model, bringing food security and educational opportunities to more students in the region.
– Mental Health Project Expansion: The positive impact of our pilot mental health project has highlighted the pressing need for broader mental health support. We aim to expand this project to more schools, continuing to train students and raise awareness about mental health issues.
– Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC) First Aid Training: We are planning a project to train orphaned and vulnerable children, including those in child-headed households, in basic first aid. This training will equip them with essential life skills to respond to emergencies and take care of themselves and their siblings.
3. Family Strengthening
4. Poverty Alleviation
– Borehole Installation Project: We have received requests from multiple schools in the arid Lubombo region to install boreholes. We plan to install solar-powered boreholes, a sustainable solution that leverages the abundant sunlight in the area to provide clean, accessible water for schools and surrounding communities.
